Kimochi

Tadao Saito, a nisei born in Peru, in his own words.

Kimochi gathers articles first published in the Japanese-language newspaper Perú Shimpo. The pieces move between personal stories, traditions and portraits of Japanese culture, all told from a second-generation perspective. That viewpoint is the heart of the book: it shows how Japanese heritage and Peruvian life meet in one person's everyday experience. The author is Tadao Saito, Himi's father.
